COMMUNITY GALLERY
The People of Trenton Photo Exhibition
April 28 – June 2
Opening Reception: April 28, 7-9pm
This exhibition, which is an extension of a project first scene at Art All Night 2017, explores the diversity of the city of Trenton, and celebrates the people, cultures, and history that make Trenton a great melting pot. The photos exhibited were shot by members of the Trenton Photo Club, and guest photographers.
“THE PEOPLE OF TRENTON exhibition came about after thinking how impactful THE PEOPLE ARE TRENTON video installation project, which was featured at last year’s Art All Night, had turned out.
I reached out to Chris Marinari of the Trenton Photo Club, to see if he would be interested in putting together a photo exhibition of a similar nature. I had envisioned an exhibition where all the photos were the same size, in the same frames, but have the images show the many faces of the people of Trenton. I wanted the diversity of the city represented. I wanted to show that from many, we are one.
Chris was very receptive to the idea, and knowing the members of the loose knit club, I knew that they would not disappoint.
This exhibition captures exactly what I had envisioned. The many faces, races, the young, the old, the creatives, the movers and shakers in the city are all represented. This is what makes community. These are the true faces of Trenton, not what is seen in the news headlines. These are the faces of THE PEOPLE OF TRENTON.”
