Linocut Printmaking
Unlock your creativity and dive into the captivating world of
linocut printmaking!
Join us for an immersive class where you’ll master the art of crafting your very own original linocut prints, With expert guidance from Amanda Chesney.
You’ll use carving tools to bring your imagination to life on a block of linoleum. From there, you will roll ink onto your block, and then print it by hand, exploring a spectrum of ink colors and paper textures to perfect your masterpiece.
Elevating your prints to the status of unique artworks, we’ll also delve into the finer details of signing, titling, and numbering each creation.
Come prepared with at least one small image idea, and let’s transform your vision into tangible artistry together!
About AmAnda Chesney
Printmaker, teacher, artist.
I am a printmaker living in Lawrenceville New Jersey, where I teach locally and also sell at shows and events. I’ve been making prints for 15 years, and never get tired of the moment when I get to see how a print turns out after coming through the press or being pulled from a plate. My favorite artistic themes are from travel or nature primarily. Many of my images come from photographs I’ve taken while exploring locally and abroad.
My educational background includes a degree in biological science as well as multiple university-level courses in a variety of printmaking techniques. I have exhibited works using the techniques of etching, drypoint, aquatint, silkscreen, monoprinting, collagraph, linocut, and solarplate. My prints are held in collections in USA, Belgium, Canada, Netherlands, Brazil and France, and I have exhibited in personal and group shows for the past 10 years on both sides of the Canada / USA border.
