Artworks’ Teaching Artist John Gummere will offer two sessions outdoors in Downtown Trenton with an emphasis on perspective, composition, and basic rendering of space. Beginners are welcome, and more experienced participants can work independently with instruction as needed. John’s expertise is primarily in drawing and oil painting, and his undergrad background in architecture gives him a strong understanding of perspective that he is eager to share.

You are welcome to paint or draw with the medium of your choice. You may find it helpful to bring a landscape easel and camp stool. Meet in front of the New Jersey State Museum, 205 West State Street in Trenton (near the Statehouse). In the event of rain, we can sit under the overhangs of the State Museum buildings.
