This workshop will guide you through a process of art-making and storytelling that will show you the healing potential of graphic narratives in your life. We will learn skills to develop and express stories visually in graphic narrative or other comic styles while developing a stronger understanding of our power to change the stories we believe about ourselves and others. Through prompts and supported exploration of your unique story, we will challenge what we have been told about who we are and what we are capable of by learning to tell a different story, our own story through graphic narrative. In this workshop you will also learn definitions of story, visual storytelling techniques, and some understanding of cultural storytelling. In this course you will be encouraged to follow your creativity and not to focus on a final product, but to think of the exploration as being as important as where it’s meant to take you.
