Artworks Trenton, a leading visual arts center in central New Jersey, is pleased to announce the appointment of Lauren Otis as Executive Director. The selection of Mr. Otis followed an intensive regional search and selection process.
“We are delighted to have Lauren as our Executive Director,” said Jeff Stewart, chairperson of the Board of Artworks Trenton. “Lauren brings a depth of knowledge of Artworks and the Trenton community, coupled with an exciting vision of what Artworks can become. We look forward to him leading Artworks to the next stage of its evolution.”
In responding to his appointment, Mr. Otis said, “I am extremely excited to have been selected by the Artworks Board of Trustees to lead this incredible organization. Artworks programming – including Art All Night, Art All Day, our exhibitions and educational offerings – is already amazing, and has been central to putting Trenton on the map as an arts destination. I look forward to building on Artworks’ relationships with our many wonderful partners in government, business, education, and the non-profit sector, and to working with Artworks’ dedicated staff, volunteers and board members to provide our many fans and supporters with great events, exhibits and programming in the years to come.”
Lauren Otis is the founding director of Art All Day, Artworks Trenton’s annual artist open studio tour and creative showcase held each November. From 2009-2014 he was a member of the Board of Trustees of Artworks, serving as chairperson from 2010-2011. He is a freelance writer, editor, photographer and artist, with a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania.
