ABOUT THE 10X10

The Red Dot 10×10 Fundraising Exhibition is a chance for the novice to test the waters of the world of original art, experienced artists to help Artworks fund continued programming, and an opportunity for the collector to build their art collection. Everyone wins!

Artists are asked to pick up their FREE 10″ x 10″ canvas at Artworks ( while supplies last, ONE per artist) October 19th – November 16th. ( 11am-6pm). You may also purchase a 10″ x 10″ canvas at Jerry’s Artarama ( while supplies last ). All works MUST fit within a (10″ x 10″ x 10″) dimension. All works sell for $100.00. There will be a 50/50 split on proceeds with the artist, unless the artist would like to donate 100% of the sale to Artworks. All funds raised will go directly to programming at Artworks.

How it Works

Red Dot + Artwork = Support. The Red Dot shows support of Community Arts in Trenton. Come to the Artworks Red Dot Fundraiser and put your red dot on the art that you love.

Over 100 Trenton area artists will create works of art on 10″ x 10″ canvas. The works should dynamic, diverse and all created especially for Artworks. Professional and novice artists can create works in oil, acrylic, mixed media, photography, pastel, watercolor and more.

Reception

From 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Saturday, December 7th, each work of artwork will sell for $100. Frames will be available for purchase as well, with the funds raised going to support Artworks.

Artwork purchased at the 10×10 show can be taken home that night.

Process For Submissions

1. Pick up your canvas from Artworks, or Jerry’s, between October 19th – November 16th.

2. Create your masterpiece!

3. REGISTER YOUR ART by November 23rd at midnight. No registrations will be accepted after registration closes.

4. Drop off your work November 26th, 27th, 30th. (11am-6pm)

SIZE

•Maximum size for artwork ( including frame ) may not exceed 10″x 10″. This rule is to ensure that there is space enough to hang at least one piece from each artist, and fits the program criteria.

REVIEW COMMITTEE

•The Review Committee will inspect submissions for condition and adherence to the above policies

•Inclusion in the exhibit is at the sole discretion of the Artworks Exhibition Coordinator, Artworks Education Coordinator, and the Artworks Executive Director.

WITHDRAWAL

Work accepted for an exhibition may not be substituted, nor will any be permitted to be withdrawn during the exhibition, except in extenuating circumstances, and then only with the approval of the Exhibition Coordinator. All works must hang for the durations of the exhibition.

STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY

All accepted entries are insured from the opening of the exhibition to the close of the exhibition. Insurance does not cover damage caused by faulty framing or wiring. Submission of work to any exhibition constitutes agreement on the part of the artist to the provisions set forth.

DROP OFF

Art MUST be dropped off by the artist or a representative of the artist on the designated drop off day(s). If artwork is not delivered on the designated day(s), they will not be included in the exhibition.

PICK UP

Art MUST be picked up within two week after the close of the exhibition. If artwork is not picked up on after two weeks, works are considered orphaned and become the property of Artworks Trenton.

DISCLAIMER

Any exhibiting artist consents to the use of his/her name and the artist’s image(s) for purposes of promotion and advertisement by Artworks Trenton. The artist waives any claim, including any claim for invasion of the right of privacy of copyright, against Artworks, its directors, officers, employees, and volunteers.

MISCELLANEOUS

•The Exhibition Coordinator must be notified in advance if an unconventional method of presentation or hanging is required. Policies set forth by Artworks Trenton will prevail.

•Once an accepted piece of artwork is installed in a show, please do not ask to change its location. It is up to the Exhibition Coordinator and/or Curator of the exhibition to place and hang artwork.
