CALL FOR ARTISTS:
It’s time again to call in the creative forces of various ghoulish minds out there to submit to the “Art of Darkness” 3rd Annual Monsters Ball Halloween Art Exhibit. Open to all artists at least 18 years or older
We’re looking for everything from the spooky to the spoofy, scary or hairy, funny or ghastly! Art can be humorous or ‘dead’ serious, so long as it maintains the Dark/Halloween/Horror theme. Get WEIRD! Get CREATIVE! This year’s theme for the Monsters Ball is Edgar Allen Poe, but you’re not required to stick to that.
$10 submission fee, for up to three entries, gets you one free Tier 3 ticket (coincidentally a $10 value) to this year’s Monsters Ball and a position in the running for three awards:
First Place Winner – Bump up to a Tier 1 Premium Ticket to this year’s Monsters Ball and cash prize of $200.
Second Place Winner – Bump up to a Tier 2 ticket to this year’s Monsters Ball and a cash prize of $100.
Third Place Winner – Bump up to a Tier 2 ticket to this year’s Monsters Ball and a cash prize of $50.
All forms of art & craft will be considered. 2D and 3D.
All 2-D ART (paintings, mixed media, prints, photography) must be suitably wired for hanging, no sawtooth hangers or clips. Up to three entries allowed per artist.Unframed works must be properly gallery wrapped with no rough canvas or staples showing.
All work must be properly/protected and labeled with artists name /address /phone number /email/ title, price and media info of their entry.
HOW TO APPLY:
1. Fill out this application form.
2. Pay submission fee through paypal using this link
2. Send an email with list of artwork and images attached, with ART OF DARKNESS (ALL CAPS) in the subject line to firstname.lastname@example.org. Image files should be JPG files, no more than 10”” in height or width, and no less than 72 dpi and no more than 300 dpi.
DEADLINE: Entries MUST be received by SUNDAY September 15, 2013… after that the coffin lid is sealed!
Notification: Entries will be notified by email by Friday, September 20.
Accepted Entries Drop-Off Dates: Saturday, Sept. 28 11am-4pm, Wednesday October 2 11am-6pm
After exhibit pick up: Wednesday, November 6 & Thursday, November 7, 11am-6pm.

The Artist affirms that all works of art submitted are original. All artworks are for sale unless expressly stated by artist. The artist is to set the price and Artworks will take a 30% commission from the selling price. Works of art will remain on display for the length of the exhibition. Works of art are insured by Artworks for the length of the show. Artist gives permission to photograph their artwork for promotional and educational use. The Artworks Executive Director and/or Exhibits Committee shall decide on the suitability of any art, the framing or support structure, and any visual or written material that might accompany an exhibit. Any works of art left at Artworks more than 1 month after the show closes will become property of Artworks.
