Mercer County Green Fest 2018: Call For Artists

The Mercer County Sustainability Coalition is an alliance of the local green teams and sustainability organizations who work together promoting a regional and collaborative approach to sustainability initiatives. Working on a variety of projects, the Coalition helps bring focus to the important issues that impact our environment in Mercer County. One of the coalition’s big annual events is The Mercer County Green Fest.

This free, fun family-friendly event is being held on Saturday, March 17th at Rider University at their Gymnasium. The goal of the event is to connect families to the local vendors and resources that can educate and inspire them to live quality lives that are healthier and more sustainable.

To help bring that vision to life, the Mercer County Sustainability Coalition has asked Artworks to help put the word out on this event to the local arts community. We immediately thought of Joe Harvard, who many saw bringing his upcycled gARTen from Asbury Park to the 11th annual Art All Night - Trenton festival in 2017. His gift is transforming or reinventing an otherwise disposable item into new, amazing pieces of art, and he will be on hand at the Mercer County Green Fest, but he will NOT be alone.

The Mercer County Sustainability Coalition is looking for artists interested in doing sustainable arts projects with kids during the event, artists who would like to demonstrate and/or sell their art and any artists who work in the field of "upcycles" or Eco-Art to be on hand for the Fest. For anyone looking to participate, please contact Lisa Feldman ( / 609-620-0722) or Pam Mount ( / 609-924-2310).
